Chronic inflammatory diseases are the most significant cause of death globally. In fact, more than 50% of all deaths are attributed to inflammation-related diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, cancer, chronic kidney disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and autoimmune and neurodegenerative disorders.
Although acute inflammation is critical for survival during physical injury and infection, resolution of inflammation is vital to restore homeostasis. Recent research has identified several social, environmental and lifestyle factors which promote systemic, chronic inflammation and initiate disease.

FORTUNATELY, EVIDENCE IS ALSO GROWING IN SUPPORT OF STRATEGIES TO SUPPORT HEALTHY INFLAMMATION RESOLUTION AND PREVENT CHRONIC INFLAMMATION.
